[Talk] Hirai Ken... Might Be Just Like Me... Except... He Stands When He Pees

Not that I know how he pees. One should assume that he stands right?

xD

I have... serious things to think about.

Means no time for Arashi... just yet.

Sigh.

[PV] Nakashima Mika - Game

0 Farted
If I didn't like Nakashima Mika and her stick figure so much, I'd have thrown this piece of crap out. What a horrible excuse for a song. Okay, it would have been okay if someone else sung it. Mika should stick to ballads cos it is where she can put her soothing nice voice to good use. Her usual jazzy songs would have been okay too, but I prefer ballads from her. But this one... I don't like it one bit.

But the saving grace is that she looks nice in this PV. I like the whole black and white look. Not sure what it is about though, since the song is so bad I just scrolled through it a bit.

xD Her strange laugh in one of those verses, uh... strange.

I think the video is basically Mika, lots of strange things, shooting at herself. Okay, shooting at many other Mikas. Or something.

You know? I couldn't be bothered.

Kitamura Jirou was a lonely young man who had always celebrated his birthday by himself. He bought a present for himself, all nicely wrapped up and he ate spaghetti by himself at the same restaurant every year. But it was different the year before the storyline began as a flashback told us that the year before, Jirou met a a sweet, active, smiley happy girl when he was buying an Ayanami Rei figurine for himself. The two had a large meal together and escaped without paying. (Well, the woman ate, mainly. Jirou had his spaghetti and that was probably it.)
PhotobucketPhotobucket
After escaping the restaurant's maitre d' who chased after them when they left without paying, Jirou spent a few strange but joyful hours with the girl and then they never met again. That was until his birthday the following year. He had a hunch that he would meet her again and meet her, he did, at the same restaurant. But the girl seem different, more frigid and unfeeling. The smile she was carrying around with her the year before was gone.
PhotobucketPhotobucket
When the two were eating at a restaurant, a gunman attacked the restaurant and with superhuman strength and speed, the mysterious girl managed to get rid of the gunman. After they reached Jirou's house, the girl, through hologram produced by her eyes, sent Jirou a message from an old man who turned out to be Jirou himself, 65 years later. According to the future him, Jirou was supposed to be heavily injured that night, by the gunman's bullets, but he build a cyborg in the shape and form of the mysterious girl the year before and sent her back to save her. The future Jirou encouraged Jirou to live his life without regret and also that he could make the cyborg more human-like as they interact more. He also learned that he will face another great disaster in the future and it was hoped that the cyborg will help him overcome that as well.
PhotobucketPhotobucket
And so begins the story of Jirou and his cyborg girlfriend.

*****

I heart Ayase Haruka. I'd kill to look like her. Spoilers begin.

Koike Keisuke's character in this movie is very endearing. Koide Keisuke has never been memorable for me. I have seen him in three movies and four dramas and because he is not hot in a way that stops you in your steps if you see him pass by, I missed him in everyone of these works as he played the sidekick dude or some minor character in these works of his that I have watched. His character in Nodame Cantabile was~ uh, you won't know it was him unless you look it up. xD Anyways, it is not that he's a bad actor, but probably a bit understated.

That aside, this is a really nice movie. I haven't seen a nice movie in a while. A nice movie that stands by itself with no strings attached (no prequels, no drama version.) I truly enjoyed it. It is sweetly romantic and very heartwarming. Irrealistic but the human-side of it is very moving. You get attached to things, even if you know you shouldn't. I got attached to crap like my textbook from past semesters, so it is very reasonable that Jirou would be attached to a cyborg who helped made his life so convenient and looks like Ayase Haruka and does so much for him. Despite her being... not human. I'd understand his disappointment when she doesn't understand his feelings.

And Ayase Haruka's acting in here is not bad at all. It is not like the pretty girl, but the pretty, fake expression cyborg. Some of her body actions are verging on robotic, which is good, considering the fact that she is playing a cyborg. You can see how her character grows more humanlike throughout her stay with Jirou. I love this character so much. She was created to serve and save this man. And she did so without fail. Even if the man vented his frustration of not having his feelings reciprocated by her on her. It is not like she did not want to feel for him. She's a freakin' cyborg for goodness sake.

My favourite scene is the one where the Cyborg girlfriend brought him back through a timeslip, to his hometown before it was burnt to ashes. Jirou was just looking around, reminiscing old times, seeing old friends and family when the Cyborg girlfriend just stood by and watched with a look of satisfaction on her face. It is as if her joy is to watch Jirou be happy. It was a very touching scene.

The ending is a tear-jerker and halfway through, I was wondering, who was that girl in the flashback who appeared so much more human than the cyborg and the ending explained everything perfectly. I love these movies where when you start to wonder if some scenes are just not going to be explained and then in the end, you go "AH~~~".

I love, love, love this movie. I love these moving romance flicks. OH MY GOODNESS I LIKE CHICK FLICKS. I LIKE CHICK FLICKS. I always thought I didn't. I read crime, mysteries instead of romance. My copy of "Wuthering Heights" is gathering dust on my shelf. I watched "Pulp Fiction" repeatedly and not "Titanic". But... that means squat because I now realize that I love chick flicks. That is a freakin' revelation.

I bawled like a five-year-old spoiled brat whose daddy wouldn't buy her a Barbie doll. What a disgrace. T_T But then it is not like it is unprecedented.

Just one thing. The timeline thing is confusing me. It is because of the earthquake and gunman incident that Jirou sent the cyborg back to save himself. Had Jirou not been hurt because the cyborg saved him, Jirou would still recreate the cyborg because she was and is clearly, the love of his life. But had the girl from the future who looks like the cyborg came back after the earthquake to live with him, then Jirou would have no incentive to recreate the earthquake. Which means that the cyborg would not have been created and subsequently could not be sent back to the past (2008) to save Jirou which means that Jirou would have had to be shot by the gunman AND suffered a lot of injuries in the earthquake right? But then, if we look at it from another perspective, the cyborg already saved Jirou and thus the past is the past. But then~ like, okay, you know? I give up. I think a lot of these crap everytime I watch a movie that involves traveling through time. Mostly I just confuse myself even more.

Perhaps I just have to kick back and enjoy the movie, which I did, tremendously. I would categorize this among the must-watch. I haven't watched such a good movie in a long time. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to people, that is, if they asked for recommendations.

Reitings: 4.5/5

P.S. I know I am supposed to go on a hiatus or something. But I had a really tiring day. So I slept through the evening. Now I am wide awake. So I watched a movie. And it turned out to be this movie which is too great to not blog about. xD

The one-part drama opens with a happy family eating breakfast but later flashes back to the past when the family was not as picture-perfect as the present. Although the father, Yamaguchi Hayato is physically challenged, he faces life bravely as he narrates his story from the beginning. Hayato explains that the reason he could go on living with a smile plastered on his face is due to the support that he got from his beloved daughter Myuu and his pretty wife, Aya.
PhotobucketPhotobucket
The drama slips back to 6 years ago, when Hayato was a healthy university student who was active in baseball and worked part time at a karaoke place. That was when he fell in love at first sight with Aya, a customer at his workplace. Young and brash, Hayato did not hesitate in his pursuit of Aya and eventually won her over despite a rather odd beginning to their relationship.
PhotobucketPhotobucket
Hayato knocked Aya up not long into their relationship and made a promise to their parents that he would work hard to save up to 1 milllion yen before the birth of their child and he kept his promise as he gained a baby daughter named Myuu. They finally became a family as Hayato continued to work harder to support the family.
PhotobucketPhotobucket
Their happiness did not last long as Hayato found that his limbs were mulfunctioning. A body check led to the discovery that he has Chronic inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy which means that his nervous system is affecting the movements of his body. Or something. I'm no doctor. Hayato was cooperative in all sorts of the different treatment programs the doctor suggest but eventually lost the drive in him as it gets harder and harder for him to move his limbs. Hayato found renewed motivation and decided to face the future bravely with a smile on his face after Myuu offered to give her dad her own legs.

If MatsuJun and Karina hooked up in real life it would be like Brangelina, only way younger and no scorned ex-wife involved, oh and I would like this couple. I am not the biggest Brangelina fan because I grew up watching "Friends". Besides Brad is old now, like have you seen how they tried to make him look like he was in "Meet Joe Black" again but failed oh-so-miserably in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button"? (Ah ha! I watch movies that are non-Japanese too. Who would've thought?) He looked like a freakin mannequin from all the make-up. xD Failed efforts. Time does not wait for anyone, not even Brad Pitt.

And if MatsuJun's sperm and Karina's egg were to merge, the kid would look better than that. I am thinking somewhere along the lines of the most beautiful porcelain doll you have ever seen. I exaggerate. xD Jun is not THAT hot, but Karina is. Her hotness evens things out. xD

Jun had everyone deceived, trying to play the happy, loving, cheerful daddy. He couldn't trick me though. I see him for the gay Do-S midget-fancier that he is. xD I kid. I read that it was based on the true story of a man who really was sick. There were some heartfelt, warm moments. I guess this is worth the time. This is part of the 24Hr TV even which was held back in August last year. I watched it a while back, but you see... I didn't quite bother.

Until recently, I watched "Kimi wa Petto" again. So I was kinda in a MatsuJun mood. A noble effort on MatsuJun's part to play a physically challenged man. It is not an easy role to play. At least far more difficult than any of his other roles where all he had to do was walk around and be arrogant. There wasn't much emphasis on Karina's character though, she was just playing the supporting wife who was meant to be outshone by Jun's character. Karina was just there to look pretty. The kid just had to act all cutesy and smile and talk in a high pitched voice.

Can you tell that I really hate kids?

I hate kids.

Last entry for the next few days. ^^ As tradition has it, people who celebrate the Lunar New Year will have a feast on New Year's Eve. We eat like we don't know what the eff 'carbs' and 'fat' and 'cholesterol' is. Whatever comes next, we worry later.

Mugita Natsumi is a pretty young waitress who loves lunch time and the Omurice at a restaurant named Kitchen Macaroni. To her, lunch is like hope for the working class. (a bit of an exaggeration but her words, not mine.) She came to work at Kitchen Macaroni after a strange series involving the eldest son of the owner of the restaurant who tricks Natsumi into tricking his family with him. Posing as the fiancee of Kenichiro, Natsumi meets his family but was left behind when Kenichiro escaped with the family's hard-earned money.
PhotobucketPhotobucket
Natsumi later convinced the stern second son of the family and head chef of the restaurant Yujiro to let her stay and work with them while waiting for the return of Kenichiro. She did so with the help of Junzaburo, the third son.
PhotobucketPhotobucket
During her stint there, she achieved rapport with the family who takes to her very soon. The three brothers Yujiro, Junzaburo and Koshiro also developed a strange fixation on Natsumi but refrained from taking actions as they thought she was actually the fiancee of their eldest brother.
PhotobucketPhotobucket
Well, actually, some of them did try to get it on, namely Koshiro, the playboy, flirty, straightforward youngest son who is still a highschool student. Junzaburo on the other hand was shy but probably was the most attached to Natsumi and he helped her throughout the way. Junzaburo is also the most passionate about his job as a chef. Yujiro took to her the slowest, his hard outlook was probably used to intimidate but actually he is a real softy inside. Well... or something like that.
PhotobucketPhotobucket
Oh yeah, Junzaburo, really cute.

*****

I heart Tsumabuki Satoshi in this. Heart heart heart. What? Bite me for fangirling. Geez. He is seriously adorable in this. So young and... adorable. I first watched this when I was in my Pi-phase. Yes, I had a Pi phase, it happened a long list of phases ago, but hey, I remember that it was there. I probably have another entry for this drama stashed somewhere in this blog or another blog or somewhere else. But it was a long time ago. So I thought I'd do this again just for the heck of it.

It is a fun family drama. Sorta like a gyaku-harem. We love gyaku-harem. Love, love, love. Not to mention the brothers (minus the eldest, I couldn't stand the eldest) are all so... diverse and have their own strengths. xD Underneath all the snippets of humour, there's a heartfelt bond within the family (minus the eldest, again) and their passion for their restaurant is admirable. And for them to take Natsumi into the family just like that. xD Well, it is a drama. Without Natsumi, there wouldn't be a drama to start with.

When the patriarchal figure, their dad, passed on after playing catchball with Koshiro for the first ime. And it was Koshiro who walked away from the game to go on a date, it kinda hit me a bit. The next time you meet with anyone might be the last time and that we shouldn't take anything for granted. But that is really difficult because there are too many things, too many people to spend time with. But it was so sudden and sad. T_T

How could Natsumi be so oblivious about the brothers' feelings, that, I don't get. She's one of those girls that seduce men in a not-so-obvious way and then act innocent when the men are hurt because of her refusal. xD But I heart Takeuchi Yuko + Tsumabuki Satoshi althought Tsumabuki is actually with Shibasaki Kou in real life. Takeuchi looks adorable in here too. xD So does Pi. They all look so young and... young. Well, Yamada Takayuki needed a haircut badly though.

I found it HILARIOUS when Koshiro used the line made famous by KimuTaku's Osamu in "Asunaro Hakusho". Koshiro went "Ore jya dame na no?" on Natsumi. I LOLLED. I am not sure if it was meant to remind viewers of "Asunaro Hakusho" but it sure did remind me of it. And the fact that Pi's like a skeletal figure here~ xD and that blonde hair. Ah~ the days when I liked Pi~ What nostalgia~

xD And it just occured to me that Yamada, Pi and Tsumabuki all appeared in "Long Love Letter" as well eh? xD

One more thing. Morita Go's appearance in this drama as a badass. I have never seen a role more suitable for him than this. Really. I had a thing for Morita Go too. xD

[TV] Arashi no Shukudai-kun

19 January 2009

Guest: Gal Sone

I am going to do this fast and then off I go to watch CNN. xD The inauguration will be around 10p.m. for me. xD I am going off to watch the world's most powerful man as he officially enters his kingdom. I hope Anderson Cooper will be anchoring. Or something.
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
It was a fairly funny episode. Or you can just say that I can burst out laughing staring at a still picture of them, really. I don't know, maybe I need a shrink. The show began with Chan-Ogu questioning the eye contact between Jun and Ohno. Jun later questions the positions at which the members are standing and wondered when was this fixed. Sho said that it might be because the two were playing guardian angel-type-things for the show. xD
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
Gal Sone said that she won't feel totally full no matter how much she eats. Aiba burst out saying "Hey, my dog is like so too!" xD Oh~ see, this is why we like Aiba. This time, all the dishes were on spoons so that they can eat it all at once. For the first dish, everyone gets a spoon but the second and the third, they had to janken for it. When Aiba said he hated cheese, and when he wanted to use an example to illustrate his remark, he was stopped. But when they allowed him to say it, he couldn't say it, probably because someone would be out for his head if he said it on national TV, or something. When they had to janken, Nino won but couldn't eat uni (WTF is uni, like sea urchin?) Jun won. Sho was VERY disappointed, but got to kinda 'eat' it, or at least the image in the camera made it seem like so. Aiba got to eat the third dish even though Jun won because Jun~ is kind (despite the Do-S-ness) and couldn't describe the taste well because he's him.
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
And the fourth~ Aiba's Mabo Tofu. xD Yes, Chinese food again, probably discreetly promoting his family business. Sneaky~ When they rest were kinda reluctant, Aiba got pissed and banged the table asking why do they dislike it so much. (He totally lashed out at Jun. xD I heart.) He separated the various ingredients of the dishes into four spoons and made them mix the food up in their mouths. Apparently, 1 in 5 would say it tastes similar to spring rolls. Guess how many people tasted the food? 5. Very accurate, the sample size just screams accuracy. xD Then they all tried and no one said so but they tasted Tan-Tan Men instead. (WTH is that?)
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
Gal Sone's ex-boyfriend is a leech and a wimp and an asshole. Just sayin'. I mean, he stole her money from her purse. I mean, do you call that a man?! Next came Aibaland. Gal Sone will eat three types of food, one of which she dislikes. The four Arashi members (minus Aiba) will eat four dishes, one of them will be served a type of food he dislikes. They will then guess. (FYI, Nino got served Mabo Tofu. xDDD That must be revenge for dissing Aiba.)
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
PhotobucketPhotobucket
xD Sho~ unleashed his stupid. We like. They all guessed correctly. Good for them.

I'll go eat something. I am really hungry.
PhotobucketPhotobucket
P.S. FUKAKYON WILL GO ON THE SHOW VERY SOON. We think she will be there to promote Yatterman cos Sho is stupid on this show and thus is unable to do that. WE LIKE. WE LIKE HER. WE LIKE HER + SHO. *Calms down*
