[Movie] Ooku

2 Farted
2010

If gender roles were reversed and women ruled the world, what would become of the concubines?

While this movie focuses on more than the 'manly' squabbles of the shogunate concubines, I would very much rather focus on the small picture. It is rather intriguing. We will slowly back out to focus on the big picture, but right now, just right now, we will talk about pretty boy squabbles for position and power.

Many times have we watched a movie, a drama serial about the concubines of Imperial China. The Emperor would be the cock in charge (forgive the uncouth language, for the lack of a better word...) and the women will fight each other in an endless (and often deadly) competition for the man's attention.

Women, their nature is conniving and possessive. It is only natural that they would fight each other for a man's attention. As reality dictates, a woman would fight another woman for a lesser man, much more can be said if it were the Emperor of China.

Now, imagine if the concubine grew penises. Imagine the concubines' places taken up by a bunch of pretty boys. There you go. What a wonderful idea, no?

Say, an epidemic stormed the land, infecting the men - and only the men. What is left is a surplus of women and suddenly, the roles reversed. The shogun is a woman and hundreds of men are lining up, pining to be in the good graces of the shogun.

Such is the world in which our central character, Mizuno lives. Forced to abandon his first name when he entered the inner chambers a.k.a. Ooku when prospects were growing thin for a descendent of a samurai, Mizuno found himself in a bizarre world. Male servants of the shogun were ranked by hierarchy of those who were the favourites of the shogun slowly down to the ones whom are not worthy to be seen by her.

The good thing about a reverse harem of pretty boys is that they can bed a higher ranking pretty boy to leap up. Handy, no? Not necessarily more peaceful than a harem of psychotic women, this offers a different look into an alternate world where for once, women had to pay for sex and they had to do the chasing. Interesting, no?
A wonderfully entertaining watch! Makes me want to get my hands on the manga.

[Buzz] Kurosagi The Movie

0 Farted
Its in theatres on Friday. But not my local theatres.

T_T

But then I can wait...

I watched this 'thing' on the movie and the filming process and stuff. I know Pi is like 'the man' now. Although Jin is more popular in the fangirls area, Pi has more dramas up his sleeve and he is starring in a movie. A movie is certainly a bigger deal as compared to dramas. Somehow, I have that impression.

But the thing is... I feel that Pi is a BIT overrated. Now, I don't want to say that he is totally overrated because depending on who you ask, he can be very hot. He has so many dramas and a movie on his resume, he must have something that others don't.

However, as I watch that Jounetsu Tairoku or something, I feel that Pi lacks professionalism, justa bit though. No doubt he works hard. No doubt he is dedicated to his job. No doubt I like him. (Screw that stupid Akira character from "Nobuta wo Produce" for being so endearingly stupid.) No doubt he commands a lot of attention from fangirls.

But I always thought that his tendency to arrive late to meetings and rehearsals is really annoying. I know people like that, and frankly, I hate it. I hate going out with them, but I do anyways, because they are my friends. But frankly, I felt that being late means you don't care about a certain meeting or it shows disrespect. So, depending on the people present at the meeting, I may go late intentionally if the person is expected to be late. But I think Pi's lateness shows that he is a diva. No doubt, he is the star of the group (that is NewS), but being the leader, shouldn't he at least make an effort?

Getting used to him not being punctual just shows how the other group members' feelings are disregarded. Because I am sure everyone hates waiting because time is precious and people would rather do something productive instead of spending time waiting.

Yes, late people are a pain in the ass.

About the upcoming movie. Its set two years from the drama. Kurosaki most probably still seeks revenge for the tragic death of his family members. Then err... stuff happens. He'd probably do Tsurara. What? We all know he wants to.

I liked the drama. Ah the drama. If I don't have so many assignments, I'd watch it again.

Heck, I think I'll abandon my assignments and go watch it now.

Horimaki suggested that Pi crossdress, Pi was like all "No, never, over my dead body." What's wrong with crossdressing?! I mean, Arashi did that, Kanjani8 did that. I vaguely remember Takki doing that. Did he? Jin did that, Kame did that, Toma did that. V6 did that.

I don't like how he seems to pick and choose his jobs. Eliminating the jobs that he feels aren't cool. He wouldn't even smile for a photoshoot. Be professional. His seniors before him did, his juniors after him did. I don't like how he thinks his hot stuff and all. Even if he is hot stuff.

Jun is hotter stuff. Jun crossdressed. He didn't like it, but he did so anyways. I have a feeling the rest of Arashi likes doing it, so I am not going to put them into this argument. xDDD I have a feeling all of K8 liked crossdressing, especially Yasu. Ryo secretly likes it too. Kenken likes it too. xD xD What? They really seem to like it okay?

[Drama] Tsubasa no Oreta Tenshi-tachi

0 Farted
The title literally means the Angels with Broken Wings and the theme song is "Resistance" by Nakashima Mika. We like Nakashima Mika.

Season 1

Tsubasa no Oreta Tenshi-tachi has two seasons, the first stars Ueto Aya, Horikita Maki, Yamada Yu and Ueno Juri as four girls who messed up in their lives and then got enlightened. Each girl are troubled by either money, regret, ambition and men respectively but eventually found their way back.

Episode 1 - Celeb (Ueto Aya)

Komine Nanako is from a modest background. Like every girl from a modest background, she looks up to the lives of the rich and famous. Nanako works hard everyday, including bedding men, but on a particular day of the week, she is able to live her dream as she becomes one of the special customers of a glamourous clothing shop. Dressed in her best, she visits that shop and befriended the owner who would bring dresses from the fashion capital of Paris just for Nanako. Every week, Nanako would spend her hard earned money on the expensive clothes. That is until one day, she befriended a young rich girl and learned that money cannot always buy happiness.

Episode 2 - Live Chat (Horikita Maki)

In the world of live chat, a girl known as Yuna has a job that requires her to chat to whoever that wanted to chat with her through the webcam. For some reason, this pretty girl is unwilling to go out into the real world and work there, thus she chats with people through a webcam for a living. When she goes out, she hides her face with whatever means possible and is extremely reclusive. That is until one day, a man came and chat with her and gave her encouraging words. She began to brighten up and is starting to be able to raise her head up high when she goes grocery shopping. That is until she found out who the man on the other side of the conversations is...

Episode 3 - Actress (Yamada Yu)

Yoshii Nao had an exchange of angry words with her parents when she decided that her family's doll-making business is not going to be part of her future. Nao had always wanted to be an actress and is prepared to move to Tokyo to try her hand in the acting world. But looking for opportunity is easier said and done as produces and casting directors everywhere decided that she isn't right for any major roles. Sick of being cast as an extra all the time, Nao ventured into the world of AV. Supporting herself by having a job as a hostess and having a hair stylist as an understanding boyfriend, she struggles to hide the AV job that she did. One day, her supposedly senile grandfather reunited with her in Tokyo and changes appear in her life.

Episode 4 - Slot (Ueno Juri)

Ryoko grew up without parents. She found herself being treated horribly by many of her boyfriends yet is willing to do anything just to be loved, such is the behavior of a child that grew up without the love of parents. One day, like any other day, Ryoko went home to see his boyfriend cuddling another girl, as angry as she was, she let it go. The next day she woke up to find her boyfriend gone and a little boy was left in his care. Convinced that this is the boyfriend's child she tried to contact the boyfriend, Kenji but failed. With no choice left, she had to take care of the child for a week, as mentioned by Kenji in a note on the table. Little did she know that this child will change the direction of her life and teach her things that she never knew about herself.

Season 2

This season tells the life changing story of four more young girls. At this point, it becomes a rather repetitive thing and kinda bores the shit out of me but then I have to finish it. And of course there's Oshinari Shugo in the second episode... la~ la~

Episode 1 - Impulse (Ishihara Satomi)

Yuri always sought for means to end her life. With a cold and uncaring single mother whom she thinks doesn't want to see her and her mundane convenience store job, she felt that she has no reason to live. Every time Yuri felt that she has to reason to live, she would climb to the top floor of a particular building and then hang at the corner, it is at that point between life and death that she decides which too choose. One day, a seemingly cheerful young man approaches her over and over again, often at the point where Yuri almost chose death, he saved her from it. Yuri soon learned a whole new perspective of life from the man named Hiroki.

Episode 2 - Sakura (Toda Erika)

Haruka is a girl that is dissatisfied with her poor parents and her father who seems to be too honest and stubborn. Because of her father's honesty, he got fired and the family struggles to send Haruka to university. This is when Haruka decided that she would become a 'Sakura' that is a girl who swindles the geeks at internet cafes. She would juggle a few men and have them buy her gifts which she would resell and earn money from that. By chance - or so she thought - she met Kouki, a handsome young man who is rich and ambitious. Haruka thought that she has found the man of her dreams but...

Episode 3 - Time (Kato Rosa)

Kana is a young competitive swimmer that is under a lot of pressure to be successful in the sport. With pressure from her father (her two siblings are swimming champions) and her coach, she seeks to release her tension by stealing goods for fun. She felt that she never had time for anything as her priority is swimming. One day, as usual, Kana does her theft-therapy at the same convenience story and she was caught by her childhood friend, Daisuke. The string of events that happened later that day will have an effect on her aim to win the competition. Kana slowly learned that she is striving blindly towards an aim that isn't really what she wanted.

Episode 4 - Merchandise (Karina)

Satou Yoshimi became Misaki when she went under the knife, threw away the face that she was born with and thus threw away her past. She became beautiful and is currently the top hostess at a hostess club. Her every wish will be made reality by her client, Maekawa who seeks to fulfill her wishes for his own pleasure. Even though she has many things that she didn't have before, somehow, she felt that something is missing. One evening, after work, she stopped by a pet shop and befriended one of the employees and a puppy at the shop. Slowly, she discovers what is the one thing that she desires most.

[PV] NewS - Taiyou no Namida -Movie Version-

0 Farted
From the drama "Kurosagi" comes the movie um... well, "Kurosagi". I haven't watched it yet... I have no chance of watching it because I live in like the anti-Japanese movie place or whatever... I hope the DVD releases fast, like, real fast.

Anyways the theme song for this movie is... "Taiyou no Namida" by NewS. The movie version of the PV is out... Well, all you see are clips from the movie. I was wondering why the PVs out so soon, I mean, KAT-TUN's lips single will be released earlier and the PV is not out yet.

Then when I watched the PV I realized that this is just to promote the movie. I think there will most probably be another version of the PV featuring NewS. This PV has no Ryo. Boo this PV. But it did work getting people all hyped up for the movie.

For the drama watchers who watched this drama, I think they would most probably be eager to watch this movie because watching the drama and not watching the movie would be like watching something without an ending. That sucks.

In this movie, Tsurara (HoriMaki) still has that Mizuki hair... xD Probably was filming the movie while filming "HanaKimi".

Its nice watching Kurosaki and Tsurara together again, they were so cute...

Um... most characters reprise their roles, if not all. Its going to be a good movie, I think. But although "Daite Senorita", the theme song for the drama did sell a LOT two years ago, I have a bad feeling for the sales for this single.

Its not as catchy, its not a song that once you heard a snippet of it, you would crave for more. You know? There are some songs that leave you wanting more and more after you hear it, this is not one of those songs.

I don't mean that its not good, its just... not GREAT. The fans would probably get the single out of loyalty. The sales would be... okay... but probably not exceeding that of "weeeek". I hope for it to sell a lot... but it probably won't. I think.

But my predictions are crap.... so yeah. Some screencaps from the PV and the single CD cover.

We have Pi attempting to be Jack Sparrow in one, and in another, we have Pi looking like he has large breasts... oh wait, he does have large breasts... that is why Ryo is always all over him... WHAT? xD I mean, who hasn't seen those concert pictures with Pi carrying Ryo up after a hug and then they turn round and round and.... aww... so romantic...

What? I am just bored, you see...

[Drama] Nobuta wo Produce

0 Farted
[Moved from my old blog.]
What the hell am I doing watching a drama starring two of the Johnny's member that I used to hate most?

Notice that I used the words "used to". Seriously, when people act stupid like that, you cannot not like them!

Okay, Kame's character is Shuji, the most popular guy in the school, to make it more cliched, the most popular guy in school is dating Erika Toda's character, Mariko, the most popular girl in school. Yamapi's character, Akira, is this rich boy who acts like he's drunk 24/7. I seriously think either Yamapi is trying too hard to act, or he took a little alcohol to help the acting. His character is either... indifferent to everything, or and idiot. There is... quite a thin line between those two.

And then there is Nobuko, whom I think is the leading lady. Nope, a popular, pretty girl cannot be the leading lady. You know why? Because it's really, really boring that the leading lady has a perfect life. xD

So this is what happens, Nobuko is this scary looking girl who looks like she is... Samara, the girl who climbed up from the well and kills everyone who watched a stupid video tape. Anyways, this girl was a new student in the school and a bunch of Japanese gangster schoolgirls are always picking on her.

Stuffs happened, and then Shuji and Akira decided that they would produce Nobuko into the most popular girl in school

Some more stuffs happened and then... stuff happened. You gotta watch it! Actually I haven't finished it, so... I can't tell even if I want to.

But, my dislike for those two guys... are gone now. FYI.

There are some things that you just can't help but like you know?

I have only reached episode 4 and I am squealing and uttering names such as "Yamapi" in a very, very sharp voice.

I am doomed.

In fact, I am considering to add stuff like "<3>

[Drama] Kurosagi

0 Farted
[Moved from my old blog.]

Update 2:

Upon finishing, I still hate Yui Ichikawa. Maki Horikita is okay.

And Yamapi is the BEST!

Why does he always get the good characters? You know, the ones that makes girls go 'WAH'.

T_T Now that I have finished all the dramas or movies I have that has him in it, I guess I have no choice but to repeat... or search for more.

Update:

Upon watching episode 8, I have decided that Yui Ichikawa is freaking annoying to the point I would skip any scene with her in it. xD

Starring: Tomohisa Yamashita, Maki Horikita, Yui Ichikawa.

11 Episodes. - I haven't finished so I have no time to make screencaps -

*****

Yamapi stars as Kurosaki, a swindler who went by the nickname 'Kurosagi' (not much of a difference, if you ask me) which means black swindler, I think. He only cheats other swindlers and pays the money back to the victim of the swindlers.

He does so for a reason. His dad was cheated by a professional swindler and killed the whole family, he escaped. He teamed up with the accomplice of the swindler who cheated his dad and always threatened that he would kill him one day.

On one of his jobs, he came across Tsurara (Maki Horikita) who believes that Kurosaki's way of life is not agreeable. She is a law student and believes that the law can help the victims. Then she became painfully annoying. She later, by coincidence, moved into the apartment next to Kurosaki's.

Yui Ichikawa's character is Yukari, Tsurara's friend who got cheated by her boyfriend and Kurosaki helped her get her money back. She then seemed to have had a crush on Kurosaki who, by episode 3 is so obviously getting involved with Tsurara who would apparently 'change his life'.

I prefer Yukari to Tsurara. Tsurara is the epitome of characters I hate. She and her ideal justice system. She and her idea of what is right and what is wrong. She and her goodness. She and her kindness. She and her innocence.

RAWR! Pissed off! I like her in Nobuta. Why oh why?!

Drama is worth watching, Yamapi is seen in many different costumes and behaviors. Funny. At times sad.

*****

I decided to review this before I finished because I don't really wanna give out spoilers. xD

Anyways, this Maki Horikita will star in "Hanazakari no Kimitachi he" which is still airing in Japan. It stars Shun Oguri as Sano and, -get this- Kyou Nobuo as Oscar M Himejima, I thought Himejima is supposed to be pretty! It will be painful to watch. Too painful. I swallowed the Sano part, but Kyou Nobuo just turned me off completely. You know what is worse? Umeda Hokuto is not hot... T_T He is old! I think the good part is Minami Nanba. Nanba senpai's actor seems kinda... xD but only one picture... not so clear some more.

Maki Horikita is everywhere nowadays, so is Erika Toda and Masami Nagasawa. Definitely the up and coming actresses. Or maybe it just happens that I keep watching dramas with them in it.
I want to watch "Liar Game" with Erika Toda and Shota Matsuda (First Ren, Ryuhei's brother), but it seems so... ridiculous.

The thing about Japanese dramas is that, it is short, 11 episodes of 50 minutes. Which means that the story progresses fast, thus gripping your attention from the very first episode. That is what I love about it. Easy to go through, yet totally exciting, wasting no time with useless details. Cram them all into a mere 11 episodes, which is the length for most of the dramas I watched recently. 10, 11, 12, thereabouts.

I have yet to finish "Kurosagi", only reached episode 3. But I am totally taken by it. This is the reason why I don't watch dramas from TV no matter how good it is. Waiting for it day by day sucks. I would like to watch it when I want it, at the speed I want, wherever I want.

With this, I have become more and more intolerant with advertisements.

I will leave you with some Yamapi goodness.

[Drama] Hanazakari no Kimitachi he

0 Farted
[Moved from my old blog.]

Starring: Horikita Maki (Nobuta wo Produce, Kurosagi), Oguri Shun (Hana Yori Dango 1 & 2, Gokusen, Stand Up!!), Ikuta Toma

The storyline has been recycled from the manga to the Taiwanese drama. Now, the Japanese drama is airing. And its better than the Taiwanese version.

The Nakatsu here is totally *heart*. However, Oguri Shun's Sano is really annoying at the moment -but I am sure he will grow to be lovely, like the manga-. Nanba Minami is gewd as well. The aura guy is hilarious. The three dorm leaders... and Nobuo Kyou looks 30. What the heck is he doing in a high school drama. He is fat, and he is old. Is it not enough that he ruined Ren?! Is it not enough?!

Nakatsu, worrying about his sexuality.

Sano seems to be constipated all the time. Except when he is drunk. He gets all kissy and stuff. That is the only time where he can be funny.Sano, deep in thoughts.

The gay doctor, he is actually not that bad once you reach episode 3. Only 3 episodes are available right now. The Kagurazaka something something guy is played by some guy named Shirota Yuu. He looks good in the piccies but kinda scary in the drama.Gay doctor, Umeda Hokuto. He should be prettier.

I still don't like Shun but I *heart* Ikuta Toma. Nakatsu has always been a likable character, especially when he thought he was gay. But the Taiwanese Nakatsu is really annoying.

Maki as Mizuki is actually very good. Better than Ella as Mizuki, Ella's expressions tend to be overacted.Ashiya Mizuki, the crossdressing protagonist of the drama.

The storyline in the drama is changed a bit. Like how Sano got injured, how Sano found out about Mizuki's gender. Those are just minor details though.

One last time.

Nakatsu is *heart*. Nakatsu is hotter than Sano in here. It is good! Cos when I was reading the manga I was thinking... if only Nakatsu can be hotter than Sano. Then it happened! As he was having doubts about his sexuality (he has a crush on Mizuki, a girl dressed as a guy. At that time, he still had no idea that Mizuki is a girl yet he developed a crush on her that had him see flowers and sparkling vision every time Mizuki is around) he found lingerie. He felt tension in his heart, the doki-doki feeling. He then realized he is not gay. "Homo jyanaiiiiiii....", he screamed.
And he danced... wearing the... underwear. That was when the neighboring female school was hunting for the underwear thief in the all-boys school. In the end, they found out that it was the dog that stole the underwear, but the one that was found in Ashiya's room did not belong the the female school students. Nanba found it suitable for his chest size, so he tried it on...

Happy, Ikuta Toma is *heart*. He is under Johnny's but he never debuted as a singer, I think. I am not sure. He's good friends with Yama~P and Jin.

Okay, I am done.
