[Movie] Life is Hard, dakedo Happy

Movie

Year: 2003

Starring: Arashi (MatsuJun, Ohno Satoshi, Sakurai Sho, Ninomiya Kazunari, Aiba Masaki)

One out of two Pikanchi movies where the Arashi members stars as five good friends who grew up together in a suburb away from the husslebussle of Tokyo city. There are, according to Aiba Masaki's character three ways for them to go into Tokyo, which are the three bridges.

Going into Tokyo, especially Harajuku is considered a bigger deal than going to war for the suburban folks. The story begins with Aiba's character, Shun explaining the friendship between the five.

MatsuJun plays Bon, the rich guy whose dad has a Vietnamese restaurant and his dream is to live in the last apartment in the same block that he lives in right now. What a dream... He walks around with a smile on his face all the time. He is from the rich part of the area.

Takuma, played by Nino is the emo teen of the group. He was the first person to bring a skateboard into the area (from his previous visit to Harajuku) and he has bleached blonde hair and is really moody looking most of the time.

Chu, the Yakuza of the group. He dropped out of the school when the teacher Sexually Harassed his crush. He has funny hair and... is... weird. (Not that the others in the movie isn't weird. This is like... one of the three weirdest movies I have watched. Okay, weirdest JAPANESE movies.)

Ohno plays Haru... the timid, obedient, cute, no complaints guy. He follows, he has these puppy eyed look and... I don't get this guy at all. The others I don't get, this guy.... just falls beyond my radar, so to speak. He is just.... I don't have any comment at all.

So these five are preparing to like... embark on a perilous journey to Harajuku, which they did. And Bon went there to set up a stall and sell his... desert thingies, only to have all his earnings taken away by local gangsters. Haru went there only to have all his money that he saved by working for a looooong time being tricked away by a big breasted salesperson. Chu just went to smash his head on bricks in a park. Takuma... went and met a bunch of pro skaters, made him determined to be one. Shun met a girl.

Yeah, then they came back, and a bunch of things happened.

All hilarious. It was 2 hours of laughter. 2 hours of ridiculous happenings.

I don't even know where to begin and where to end.

Btw, the other two weirdest Japanese movies I watched are "4.6 Billion Years of Love" and "Fantastipo!" OMG I haven't reviewed them!!!

I am busy. Not that anyone is interested. Reviewing for my own satisfaction. xD
